So you've checked into your hostel, settled into your room, and maybe took a little power nap after a long day of travel. What do you do now?

Rather than wasting your time scrolling through your phone searching what you can do, we have put together a nice list of things you can do while you are visiting. Let's explore the best things to do in Estepona:

Relax at the Beach

A country with beautiful beaches and perfect temperature more than 300 days year round, you're bound to visit one of several in Estepona. La Rada, located within walking distance from the town center, offers many volleyball and football nets, beach bars, and great views of the coastline.

Additionally, our hostel is stocked with beach umbrellas, balls, a slackline and much more for you to borrow. Just ask reception!

Playa del Cristo, Playa Bahía Dorada, and Playa Costa Natura

Visit the Orchidarium

In an elegant glass-domed building surrounded by lush landscaping, Estepona's Orchidarium houses 1,500 species of orchid – the largest collection in Europe.

Just a 5 minute walk from the hostel and only a 3€ entrance fee for adults.

Grab a Drink with Entertainment

Spain is synonymous with a fantastic nightlife but although Estepona is smaller in scale than any big Spanish city it still offers numerous bars with high spirits and great music. Every bar has something special about them.

Enjoy the Ruta de los Murales (Mural Route)

It’s not only plants and flowers that flourish on the streets of Estepona. You will come across a collection of over 50 large-scale murals that you must check out - one being the highlight in all of Spain, Día de Pesca (Fishing day).

Take a Hike

Let’s hike! Pack a lunch and put on your best shoes. Just a two hour walk to Charca de la Extranjera (Foreigner’s Pond) from the hostel, you will get to see the beautiful terrain of Estepona. You will come across neighborhood dogs, several fruit trees, and an amazing natural swimming pool at the end.

Shop around the Flea Market

If you're around for the weekend you must check out the Sunday market at the port. You will find many vendors selling clothes, jewelry, and nice things for you to take back home as souvenirs. Additionally there is a second hand market at the bullring that holds many treasures for you to buy and also a really cool place to check out.

Walk the Senda Litoral de Estepona

If you like long walks along the beach or are a distance runner then you won’t be disappointed by the Senda Litoral de Estepona. A path stretching between 160 and 180 km along the entire coast connecting Manilva and Nerja. An ongoing project that seeks to connect the entire Mediterranean arch, from Spain to Greece. It is the perfect way to take in all the beaches, cliffs, promenades and exceptional landscapes of the South of Spain.

Take a Day Trip!

Gibraltar

If you want to hear a wild mix of Spanglish , meet cheeky monkeys and wind down the day with a traditional English pub dinner, then head to Gibraltar for the day.

How to get there:

Gibraltar is just a 35-minute drive from Estepona – perfect if you’ve hired a car. There’s also a bus route that takes 1 hour, and 24 minutes from Estepona Antigua.

Marbella

If you have an upscale lifestyle and enjoy shopping — Chanel, Louis Vuitton and Gucci, to name a few — but also still value culture and a low-key beach-town vibe and sensibility then you must check out Marbella.

How to get there:

You can take the L-79 bus from Estepona Andalucia, which takes approximately 46 minutes, or drive in 26 minutes.

Dive into Tapas

Your time in Spain won’t be complete without tapas. Some of the most typical tapas you may see on a menu include: patatas bravas, olives, cuttlefish, and paella. And don’t forget to pair it with a glass of vino or a cold cerveza.
